In 1993 Mike co-founded 3Soft Corporation, directed new product design, development and support of standards-based soft SIP cores for microprocessors and peripherals, and initiated a process for sourcing technology from third parties. In 1996, EDA firm Mentor Graphics Corporation acquired 3Soft to form its Inventra IP division, where for 4 years Mike directed technology sourcing and alliances, managing the evaluation and selection of IP design companies. He conducted due diligence for corporate acquisition and negotiated agreements for productive partnerships.
Mike's wide-ranging experience includes: system-on-chip and embedded systems; design, process, technology and quality audit; technical, commercial and legal due diligence for venture capital funding and corporate acquisition; patent search, review, patentability and infringement assessment; execution of technology licensing, royalty, re-marketing, development and support agreements; IP analysis, protection, valuation and licensing; troubleshooting.
Mike is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He holds a B.Eng degree in Electronics Engineering from Liverpool University, is an accredited associate of the Institute for Independent Business and member of Initiatives in Business Development.
